Toassist the teacher in planning collaboratively, in the context ofthe PYP and the AIA curriculum, to build on student knowledge andexpertise, develop significant units of inquiry, accommodate arange of ability levels and emphasize connections betweencurriculum areas.
Towork with individual students or small groups of students toreinforce learning ofconcepts or skills as designed and prescribedby the teacher.
To usea range and balance of teaching strategies to differentiatelearning in coordination with the teacher.
Toencourage students to be critical thinkers, involving studentsactively in pursuing relevant units of inquiry, and maintaining asupportive climate for the needs of second languagelearners.
To guide independent study,enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by theteacher.
To guide children in working andplaying harmoniously with other children in a variety ofsettings.
To assist the teacher in setting upactivities in the classroom.
To assist withsuch large group activities as drill work, reading aloud,storytelling and supervision of children during recess and playperiod.
To check and record student attendanceand performance
To actively participate inprofessional development with the aim of continually working toimprove learning for our students within the learning culture ofAIA and the philosophy of the IB PYP.
To befamiliar with the values and beliefs expressed in the philosophy ofthe IB PYP and to work to translate them into daily classroompractice in an international environment.
Tomaintain a professional demeanor and regard for the image of theschool and the support of colleagues in all activities, duties andrequirements of the school as assigned by the Elementary Principaland PYP Coordinator and outlined in the policies of theschool.
BA or BS degree.
Fluentin Arabic language.
