Job Summary

As the waiter / waitress is responsible for delivering great service to all guests, being knowledgeable and professional in doing so.

He / she will need to deliver an excellent guest and member experience while having knowledge of menu offerings.

Main Duties

  • Is responsible for doing all preparations before and during the service, e.g. preparing tables and polish cutlery.
  • Keeps track of the stock and supplies in the restaurant and communication where there might be a shortage like linen, glasswork etc.
  • Follows correct reporting procedures if faced with issues
  • Ensures that Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Complies with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Takes orders from the guests, explaining the menu and advising the guest on their decision making.
  • Communicates with the kitchen about the orders and being very clear about special wishes of guests.
  • If necessary preparing orders like drinks and preparing sacks, bread etc.
  • Serves at parties and reception if required
  • Deals with the payments and doing closure paperwork if required.

  • Takes reservations, in corporation with the supervisor and hostess / host if necessary because of special requests of the guest.
  • Makes sure that all the guest areas looks immaculate.
  • Ensures that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Ensures proper appearance and grooming while on duty.
  • Monitors operating supplies, equipment and reduces spoilage and wastage successfully.
  • Is Flexible on working time (e.g. night shift)
  • Is willing to work in a multi-cultural team.
  • Complies at all times to the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts regulations
  • Share all relevant information with Food and Beverage Supervisor & Restaurant Manager in 121’s
  • EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar role
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations
  • Previous experience of cash handling
