About Your Job :

The is responsible for the development of Qatar Airways network strategies and vision for Pricing, Groups and Distribution to include the Global Distribution System (GDS) engagement.

The position provides strategic and operational leadership for all market related revenue activities and establishes Passenger Revenue targets for the airline through management of Pricing strategies to achieve the Forecast.

The role operates with cross functional latitude in the organization as to develop strategic revenue initiatives, integrated analysis, leadership, performance / change management and solution support within Pricing Revenue Management (PRM) department, the Commercial Division and the Airline Group.

Develop innovative system philosophies / methodologies to reduce complexity and lost revenue opportunities.

Accountabilities : :

  • Develop and drive the strategic direction of QR Pricing Implementation, Tariffs Operations and Groups teams.
  • Ensure pricing strategies are formulated using analytical methodologies and communicated consistently and clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Devise and implement strategies for route profitability in relation to yield and revenue with management of the passenger flow and compartment mix across the network based on origin destination.
  • Develop GDS cost reduction strategies as to reduce the overall GDS distribution cost. Engage GDS vendors as to negotiate a favourable contract for the airline.
  • Develop group pricing policies and procedures with implementation of these strategies for different countries. Lead the team in evaluate trends in market conditions using information available from various sources, including market intelligence reports relative to competitor activities, political / economic trends / industry development's as to ensure that corporate revenue and yield objectives are not compromised.
  • Formulate network revenue objectives and targets, gain agreement with SVP sales, Finance, Planning and Inventory to implement revenue production strategies for different regions.
  • Develop strategies liaising with commercial SVPs, VPs and Area managers in achieving the Revenue targets. Work with Senior Leadership to determine and manage sales strategy with identifying future market opportunities and effectively communicate them through the organisation.

  • Develop a transformational and actionable strategic direction, prioritization and communication in developing the network performance.
  • Devise and implement a special Pricing and Distribution mechanism based on the Operating planned schedule as to translate business goals into successful Pricing Revenue Management policies and procedures.

  • Device and implement GDS bypass strategies by the way of Direct Connect NDC ( New Distribution Channel) with a strategic plan of implementation to agent community and engaging Commercial Sales.
  • Monitor advance booking, forecast alerts, competitor threats, political / economic / legal aspects that affect pricing and develop strategies to ensure that we achieve network passenger and revenue targets.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and overall execution of revenue management strategies to maximize system revenue and achieve industry growth.

  • Manage and implement processes to capitalize on the market demand with CIS system. Directly responsible for the management of Revenue Management Bid Price based on the network pricing as to provide accurate and dynamic seat availability in GDS, Online Travel Agencies (OTA) and any channel where Qatar Airways inventory is distributed.
  • Ensure managers develop fact-based analysis and insight by offering ongoing guidance to assist in the evaluation of commercial strategic initiatives for short and long term planning needs.
  • Implement key analysis metrics for tracking procedures through a continuous review and evaluation of business strategies, market trends and competitive benchmark.
  • Oversee and guide the team in conducting in-depth analysis on a variety of complex strategic business projects / issues, extracting and analysing data, presenting the findings and making strategic recommendations to the business.

  • Lead and deliver the development, execution and monitoring of strategic and annual operating plans. Develop strategic frameworks, including tools, templates, and approaches which are effective and clearly communicated to aid commercial planning and analytical process.
  • Partner with IT, PRM Solution team and others to ensure systems requirements and development roadmaps are clearly defined / implemented.

  • Ensure performance measurement of functions and processes related to Commercial Intelligence System forecast, network revenue performance, point of sale (POS) revenue development, route profitability, system usage, business process productivity and market / pricing product performance.
  • Implement robust pricing databases and processes that meet businesses requirements to leverage our competitive position.

  • Introduce change management within the pricing department to bring in more centralised legacy practises whilst deploying enhanced analytics.
  • Establish and define the pricing road map for key changes and quick wins aligned with the vision.
  • Proactively engage inventory and demand team leadership functions to forge closer market strategies and coordination.
  • Lead cross-divisional projects with Revenue Analysis, Marketing, Stations, Pricing, Planning, IT or other internal or external partners
  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Qualifications, Experience and Skills :

    Qualifications :

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level or equivalent (Essential)
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent preferably in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or Analytical related fields (Preferred)
  • Previous Experience :

    Minimum 10 + years relevant experience (Essential)

    10+ prior experience in either a Revenue management leadership role, Business Strategy, Business Intelligence, Management Consulting or Analytical related field (Essential)

    Experience in a RM strategy, Network Strategy, Performance or Planning Environment (Preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced, dynamic environment to deadline.
  • Methodical, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Prior experience within the Airline / Travel industry background or related field.
  • Adequate knowledge of Business Planning, Business Analysis and Strategy concepts and techniques.
  • Experience in competitive, strategic business and / or financial assessment, trending and forecasting.
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop new techniques or approaches as dictated by the business.
