POSITION SUMMARY :
Civil Engineering Technician is responsible for providingcivil plans, structural plans, water / sewer plans based on existing localutilities and facilities, and prepare bills of material and cost estimates forprojects.
The qualified candidate will work with a team of engineers, draftersand surveyors to ensure customer satisfaction and successful projectcompletion.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Responsible for supporting the civil / structuralengineering workload such as perform calculations, engineering drawings,prepares bills of material and cost estimates, statements of work, requests forinformation.
Attends meetings as required for projects orinvestigative tasks.
Shall support as needed, cradle to grave functions forbase engineering requirements, requirements assessment, planning, and projectcloseout.
Shall work with engineering team to identify, analyzeproblems and develop technical solutions.
Keep all work areas clean, orderly and in a safe manner.
Shall comply with all health, safety, and environmentalrules, laws, codes, guidelines, criteria, and standards in the design andconstruction of real property facilities.
Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding ofall government and contractor property provided for use.
Complete training in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA andUnited States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
Responsible for precise execution of company timereporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
Performs other duties as assigned in accordance withcontractual, functional, and mission requirements.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED :
may be required to push,pull and lift heavy equipment. Use of portable or vehicle equipped radios tomaintain contact and accountability of work activities.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Work will be indoors and outdoors. Exposure to heat,cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur. Overtime and shift work may be requireddepending on contractual needs.
Employeemust comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Companywork rules as well as written instructions.
Task specific work environmenttraining will be provided as required. Must be prepared to function in awartime environment to support U.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, teamlifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping,stretching, and bending.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience maybe substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Must hold an Associate’s degree or higher in Civil / StructuralEngineering
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S.Passport.
Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET SecurityClearance prior to deployment.
Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able to drivewith a manual transmission.
Must have an international driver’s license andcapability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtainflight line access badge.
Must be able to pass employment and deploymentqualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drugtesting, background checks, etc.
Candidates must successfully complete both online andhands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defensetraining.
Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD providedprotective gear.
A minimum of five years of office / field experience and becapable of preparing drawings, statements of work, submittal registers andproject cost estimates.
Experience with AutoCAD software.
Must be skilled with Microsoft programs such as Project,Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Good writing skills.
Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meetmission requirements
Military experience in a contingency environment andknowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
