QinetiQ have recently established a Joint Venture in Middle East to form a new company. The Joint Venture (JV) sits within QinetiQ’s International business including a portfolio of Land programmes.
It predominantly covers the Land domain in defence aligned to QinetiQ’s core business across Advisory Services, Test & Evaluation, Research and Development and Training Advice, and may also evolve to deliver services outside of defence.
The Scheduler and Controller role is responsible for providing Project Scheduling support to the Land Portfolio of business opportunities from contract award and throughout the delivery phase.
This individual is responsible for all aspects of Programme scheduling & Control aspects in line with the Master Schedule.
Specific Responsibilities :
Liaise with Programme Team and Planning / Delivery Team to maintain a medium and long term view of project requirements
Produce, monitor and maintain Programme and Project schedules and Project plans for specific Programmes as detailed by the BQS business
Support the weekly planning resourcing and schedule review meetings with the Programme team.
Resolve detailed scheduling conflicts with the Programme and Delivery Team Leaders.
Assist with the production of daily and weekly project programmes.
Collate and report the resource hours on a weekly and monthly basis to the Operations Manager.
The Scheduler / Controller is accountable to Senior Project Manager in Qatar as the focal point for all Project schedule & control activities.
Key accountabilities include :
Support the execution of Project Management Plan against the Master Schedule.
Effective and accurate scheduling and allocation of equipment & resources to meet project delivery timescales.
To become familiar & work proactively with Barzan client, all industry team members and project teams to gain early visibility of problems and assist in their resolution.

Proactively Supporting the achievement of financial targets (revenue, EBIT, cash, momentum sale orders).
Will work closely with the Client, internal business and Industry delivery teams.
Identifying scheduling risks including those arising from conflicting commitments and demands, and will work to provide mitigation.
Monitor, maintain and report change and configuration control.
Will require some work outside normal hours and, although based full-time in Qatar, may require occasional International travel.
Optimising the delivery schedule against IPO capability and capacity for current and future work.
IT literate (minimum of MS Office MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio & Outlook).
Proficient and agile in Microsoft Project
Able to demonstrate the practical application of Project Management & Scheduling techniques.
Experience in the planning and management of tasks and resources, and dealing with rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.
