This position is available only for FEMALE candidates. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated, UK qualified, Secondary Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join our rapidly expanding school.
Suitable candidates will be able to offer both French and Spanish Language to i / GCSE and A Level. The Secondary section of the school opened in September 2021 (for Years 7 to 10) and this is a new position for a teacher who is ready for the challenge of starting their own department.
We are in the process of designing and building our curriculum so that it matches the skills requirements of the KS2 curriculum, i / IGCSE and A level qualifications and our aim and vision for the school.
The successful candidate for this position will be able to prove themselves as an ambitious and capable teacher so that they are well positioned should a Head of Department role become available in the future.
It is expected that the MFL teacher will teach KS2 and KS3 classes in the first instance, but will also be able to offer i / GCSE French and Spanish, and beginners language classes after school (1.
45pm to 3.00pm); as part of their timetabled hours each week. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to gain experience in one of the premier independent British Curriculum schools in the Middle East.
This position is also a great opportunity for experienced teachers to advance, as there are opportunities for career progression from August 2022 as the school grows towards full capacity, which it is intended to reach over the next two years.
Successful applicants must have : A certified UK teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, or PGCEA Bachelor’s Degree in French and / or Spanish.
Exceptional subject knowledge, with extensive experience of teaching the British National Curriculum in Key Stages 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5A willingness to teach French to KS2 classes.
Recent experience teaching i / GCSE and AS / A level French / Spanish (preferably with either Cambridge or Pearson International Examinations).
A desire to help build a thriving department in a new girls’ school.A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
Knowledge if how to differentiate teaching materials so that all pupils have an opportunity to access the curriculum.A willingness to take part in extra-curricular teaching after school (in this instance these hours would be part of the teachers timetabled hours each week) Desirable qualities : Experience of teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language or English as a Second Language.
Experience of integrating technology into secondary teaching.Experience of, or an understanding of how STEM education can be integrated into the secondary Geography curriculum.
