Description :

The Commercial Department Head’s role is to maximise Company sales and profit through the effective direction and management of all aspects of procurement.

He is responsible for ensuring that all products appear in the right store at the appropriate line and in the correct qualities.

He keep up with competitor’s prices and products and communicate with the marketing team to ensure near competitive offers in the market.

Internal :

  • High pace working environment with demanding and conflicting priorities at times
  • External :

  • The role work actively and frequently with selected suppliers and will have to exercise ingenuity through creative dealings with different individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • May include high-pace working environment with demanding and conflicting priorities at times.
  • Interface includes that of customs, forward shipping company or any regulatory administration for business.
  • He / She prospects for potential suppliers (local & import) and follow the process of auditing purchase conditions; negotiate prices and finalizes commercial contract agreements with the supplier in consideration with BU’s potential profits & margins.
  • He / she consistently evaluate supplier’s performance for accuracy of order, timely shipping and quality of products.
  • He contributes the same planogram for each category & portfolio, and make sure followed by store team.
  • Define and own all range strategy of his department (products, selection, prizing) in line with consumer trends, the sales and the margin target.
  • Qualifications :

  • University graduate preferably in a Business related discipline.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, preferably with French & Arabic speaking background.
  • Minimum 8-10 years combined experience in similar industry of which 5 years must have been spent in similar capacity.
  • Preferred 5-10 years GCC experience
  • Has strong leadership skills, mature and with analytical skills
  • Computer literate using Office package, i.e. Word, basic Excel, Power-point.
  • Highly motivated and self-motivated
  • Organized with great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge on Arabic culture, market and local food-retail trends would be useful.
  • Expert in negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree / higher diploma Experience : Min : 8 Salary : Unspecified
