Your main responsibilities will include :
Commissioning of control and protection systems / devices for new & live substations.
Ensuring the correct functionality of the systems / devices in accordance with the specifications and the scope.
Conducting site acceptance test (SAT) and hand over the systems / devices to the customer.
Proactive coordination and reporting with the project management (technical, organizational and financial).
Actively support the project manager related to costs, resources, time schedules, additional business / support management.
Locally contact person for customers, consultants, main contractors, local contractors.
Coordinating with site manager for interfacing other equipment (primary, auxiliary system etc.)
Presence during meetings with customer / if required negotiations and discussion with customer.
Supervising safety regulations on-site as per OHS safety instruction & policy. Ensuring coordination with H&S responsible person on site.
Reporting unsafe practices and incidents.
Reporting like test protocols, daily commissioning log, weekly progress report, site acceptance test signed by the customer etc.
Short term scheduling of activities in cooperation with the responsible person.
Handling the customer for non-confirmation reports / pending item list.
Maintaining the documentation (red mark drawings, as delivered / as built, software back-ups) timely.
Offsite responsibilities : Guide, lead, supervise and support the local commissioning engineers of the local product group.
Additional unusual responsibilities :
Stopping commissioning work if the safety and security conditions are in-sufficient according to STOP & CHECK guidelines.
Competency to technical discussions and clarifications with responsible persons.
Managing & Monitoring third party resources.
Training junior engineers and third party engineers to build the knowledge know-how.
Monitoring the OHS requirement, periodical SOT. Updating the safety document
Completing the project, handing over final As Built, O&M to the customers, obtaining the TOC, proceeding for contractual closing.
Following ABB quality processes and document control procedures to ensure the project flow smooth and accurate.
Ideally you should have an engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electrical & electronics / electronics and Communication / Instrumentation with 10+ years of work experience in engineering and commissioning of Power grids products.
You should have 2-5 years of experience in Live Station (Substation Automation control & protection system). You should have excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
