About the role
Develop and establish a World leading e-commerce platform for online retail sales across the QR Group. Ensuring governance processes across the Group Companies are developed in order to build and enhance the capabilities needed to share date and learnings in a new wat.
Provide leadership on a strategic and commercial level to continuously drive and improve online sales performance, maximizing revenue contribution to exceed revenue targets and ensuring long term growth.
In addition, to follow up on key online developments within the industry and keep abreast of the latest technical innovations in the field of online sales to enhance and improve the customer experience, which exemplifies the 5 star Qatar Airways ethos .
The role includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities :
Developing and establishing an e-commerce strategy, which includes leading the online Sales strategy across network including all tactical and strategic digital channels.
Ensure integration across the QR Group and continuously evolve the proposition through an agile test & learn’ approach to optimise sales (online and offline), as well as customer experience.
Lead the E-commerce strategy to deliver the highest possible % share and therefore contribute to reduce the distribution cost of sale.
Working closely with senior management to establish a clear pricing strategy for online channels.
Lead the RFP processes of multi-million dollar purchases to ensure E-commerce technologies meet requirements.
Ensure comprehensive online sales plans are implemented across all regions geared towards exceeding all online sales KPI’s.
Ensure all E-Commerce and E-marketing units are in synch with the online sales objectives of the company.
Without a Degree :
High School / Vocational Qualification with Minimum 12 years of job-related experience
With a Degree :
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
Strong Ecommerce sales knowledge and experience.
Strong retail oriented digital knowledge and experience
First-hand experience of key direct sales channels
Commercial management experience with significant revenue accountability
Track record of delivery of significant change

Proven understanding of E-Commerce within the travel retail industry
In depth understanding of the retail industry and it’s specific sales, marketing and distribution mechanisms.
Solid knowledge of core retail IT systems and applications.
Knowledge and previous experience of online sales and marketing technologies.
Knowledge of the latest industry trends across online retail and online travel.
Fluency and accuracy in English language.
