About The Role
In this role, you will supervise and provide administrative and operation support to cashier staff on a daily basis ensuring that all functions in the section are being handled smoothly, with daily reports being completed, and enough manpower coverage for all shifts.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role
Ensure that all cashiers balance at the end of the day with correct reports are generated to substantiate correct processing, prepares and transmits deposits, and reconciles all phases of the credit card payment processes.
Ensure collection and lodgement in bank of correct cash Sales Proceeds due to the company against collection.
Monitor and control all stocks of (EBT, porterage tags, cash bags, seals), issued at the Airport to ensure that they are properly accounted for.
Ensure that cashiers are kept fully advised of any changes in EBT fares, Saleable Amenities promotions, prices, IATA Airline regulations, Interline agreements, charter operations, additional flights, company policies (whichever relevant ) so as to safeguard and minimize the company’s liability to Airlines / customers.
Handle cash and credit card collection arising from the movement of 30 million passengers per annum.
Liaison with Duty Managers with regards to shortages and staff salary deduction.
Additionally, to ensure to provide the full cashiering services to all concessionaries.
Ensure that soiled rates must be properly accounted exchanged in accordance to finance SOP.
Ensure soiled notes are disposed in accordance to finance SOP.
Resolve all pending issues handed over by outgoing supervisor
Ensure all unposted batches are communicated to duty managers
Ensure all manual sales are controlled, collected and posted
Ensure smooth handling of rotating floats.
Conduct surprise counts on floats amounts.
Ensure all documents leaving the department are in order.
Ensure to destroy used gift vouchers.
Ensure all staff variances are captured and recovered.
Ensure all balance sheet schedules are prepared and reconciled on a timely manner.
Ensure to draft the finance SOP for cashiering
Plan cashier staff monthly Roster.
Control the staff leave / leave plan so as to ensure proper coverage of all cash points at all times, section’s objectives are effectively achieved and productivity maximized.
Ensure staff attendances as per roster and absence are replaced
Monitor the performance of the cashier staff and identify necessary training needed.
Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
You will have a Trade of Vocational Qualification or preferably a Bachelors Degree of equivalent. In addition, you will have a minimum of 4 years of Cash related work experience in a similar role.
In addition, you will have the following job specific skills :
Good understanding of industry practices.
Excellent man-management skills.
Good communication skills.
Conversant with reporting and ticketing procedures.
