Since 2012, the Jacobs team in Qatar have been focused on delivering football stadiums and other supporting infrastructure for the delivery of an amazing 2022 FIFA World Cup™, that will leave a lasting legacy for Qatar, the region and the world.
The tournament will have the most geographically compact footprint in its history since the inaugural single-stadium edition in 1930, with all stadiums within 50km of the centre of Qatar’s capital city Doha.
This hosting concept means that spectators and players will spend less time travelling and more time enjoying the tournament, and it will create opportunities to centralise the provision of some services and facilities.
As a Tournament Road Network Lead for the Fan Zone, your role will be both planning and operational delivery. The experience of the visitors and the football fans leading up to and during the event will inspire your thought processes as you look to collaborate with all functional areas and transport systemsstakeholders covering access to metro stations, bus services, parking, taxis / rideshare and last mile.
Through traffic analysis of operations, you will be testing proposed plans with appropriate traffic models helping to develop local area traffic management plans.
You will also be supporting the delivery of transport for all test events prior to the FIFA World Cup 2022.About youTo be considered for this position you will be degree qualified in Transport, Civil Engineering, Project management or in an Event Management discipline.
You will have experience in the planning and delivery of major sports events in a role of Transport Planning and / or Transport Operations, ideally within a lead role, with proven ability to manage cross-functional teams.
