As Assistant Restaurant Manager you are responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in setting maintaining and improving service standards established by Food and Beverage Manager You are also be responsible for training the restaurant associates establishing cooperation among them and smooth running of the restaurant Specific Duties and Responsibilities Ensure that all restaurant associates attend a briefing at the beginning of their shifts and all are in their proper uniform Assist the restaurant manager in planning and coordinating the restaurant operation with all restaurant associates Liaise with the Kitchen Stewarding Bars Housekeeping and other sections related to restaurant operations to ensure that the it runs smoothly in areas of joint responsibility Maximise revenue in the outlet by implementing suggestive selling or upselling procedures Assist in the planning and execution of promotional activities as directed Monitor and control the financial performance of the outlet by controlling costs and expenses Assist in monitoring and controlling the restaurant operating equipment OE inventory and participate inventory taking Conduct a frequent front and back of house checks to ensure miseenplace service procedures standards of cleanliness and hygiene repair and maintenance employee grooming and manning levels are in order and take appropriate action where necessary Assist in the conduct of administrative work such as preparing and submitting reports preparing duty roster preparing vacation public holiday schedules of restaurant associates on time Lead coach counsel discipline and develop subordinate associates Establish good guest contact by setting up guest history cards being highly visible in the Restaurant area and handling guest feedback complaints effectively Maintain a high level of cooperation and communication with the Chef to avoid friction between kitchen and service associate Assist the Restaurant Manager in his her absence in reviewing the logbook reports on all guests comments complaints and daily incidents which happened in the restaurant and forwarded the same to the Food and Beverage Manager Consult the chef on daily specials and cascade the information to the associates
