Where Do You Fit In?
We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of HSE Engineer II to be based in Qatar.
In this role, you will be the key point of contact within the HBT Qatar and Kuwait businesses and will directly report to the HBT Gulf HSE Leader with a matrix reporting into the General Manager / District General Manager of Kuwait - Qatar.
You will be required to assist the Business Managers and Leaders in delivering the HBT HSE Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and drive a positive OHSE culture within the HBT Qatar - Kuwait business.
What Will You Be Doing Every Single Day?
Day to day support to the HBT business and other functional department managers in their HSE management
Support the HBT Qatar - Kuwait business in meeting local legislative, Honeywell and customer HSE requirements
Act and be accountable on behalf of HBT Kuwait-Qatar leadership for all Health Safety and environmental matters
Establish relationships, processes and tools with business managers, customers, main contractors and subcontractor representatives and influence employees to deliver required HSE behaviors and results
Deliver HSE training to employees in line with Honeywell HSE management system requirements and local legal requirements.
Perform regular customer site and Honeywell facilities audits, HSE reviews and spot checks to ensure compliance. Follow up and ensure timely closure of all HSE corrective actions.
Ensure accurate reporting of HSE events and incident investigations as specified in Honeywell HSE management systems.
Support all internal and external HSE audits within the HBT Qatar - Kuwait businesses.
Ensure OHSE records are accurate
Lead HOS-HSE integration and ISO45001 certification.
What Skills and Experience Will You Have?
BSC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification and experience.
Occupational Health and Safety Certification or Diploma from an IOSH accredited institution such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
Tertiary level of educational qualification is advantageous
Proven previous experience in a full time HSE role with demonstrated HSE experience.
Experience in senior management level is an advantage.
Industry sector experience and / or qualifications : Construction industry / Oil and Gas Constructions / Airport Installations Service
A comprehensive knowledge of occupational health safety and environmental aspects and legislative requirements
Proficiency in OHSE hazards identification and Risk assessments
Competence in accident / incident investigation techniques, workplace health and safety audits
Competence in establishing safety procedures and work instructions
Proficiency in MS office software
Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills
Experience in change management and continuous improvement projects
Willing to travel (domestically)
Qatar driver license
A knowledge of principles and best practices
An ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
A desire to continually improve processes and motivate change. A confident, resilient personality
Confirmed ability to communicate at all levels across all internal and external partners involving strong relationship building skills
Excellent organization and planning skills
