Establish the long-term operating strategy for the Al Shaheen field, including the definition of operating principles for new developments.
Conduct or manage operations-focused studies within CPD.
Contribute to or advise on Petroleum Architecture / Conceptual Engineering studies regarding operations related subjects.
Act as CPD focal point for operations related matters and main interfaces with operations entities.
ACTIVITIES : General :
Adopt, demonstrate, and promote an exemplary behavior regarding HSE.
Provide feedback on and propose improvements to NOC technical standards.
Ensure adequate and timely reporting (progress, risks, concerns).
Formalize any relevant feedback from operations or projects.
Long-term Strategy :
Gather and consolidate stakeholders’ inputs regarding the Field Operations Philosophy, i.e. by organizing and animating brainstorming workshops within NOC and with shareholders.
Analyze current operational performance and predict long-term evolution of key parameters (POB, OPEX, GHG emissions) to anticipate on any required adjustment of the Operating Principles.
Adapt innovative solutions from well-established personal experiences and knowledge of oil and gas industry practices and steward their adoption in the company.
Promote low carbon operations in collaboration with the GHG Emissions and Energy Efficiency Lead.
Promote digitalization in future operations in collaboration with the Digital Project Group (DPG).
Operations focused Studies :
Manage or coordinate dedicated studies in collaboration with FOPS Methods and other CPD departments to resolve recurring operational / safety issues and improving operational performance, including e.
g. demanning of satellite platforms, offshore workforce optimization, long-term accommodation strategy, refurbishment of living quarters, JUB access (seabed footprint issues), export scheme optimization
Define the work scope and design basis and manage specialized studies contracted to third parties.
Development Studies :
Provide Field Operations input for the preparation of Al Shaheen Development and Decommissioning plans, as well as for the Asset Life Extension studies.
Contribute to the development studies conducted by the Petroleum Architects by preparing the Field Operation Philosophy and the Safety Concept, as well as estimating the incremental Operating Expenditures associated with the future developments.
Ensure internal alignment and shareholders’ endorsement of proposed strategies or enhanced operating concepts; anticipate and determine the change management process to implement these modifications.
Upon completion of studies, handover the Field Operations strategy and principles to the entity in charge for project execution (MP, E&C, FOPS )
Focal Point / Interfaces :
Represent CPD in recurring Field Operations meetings, including the weekly / monthly Operations. meetings and the monthly Production Performance Group meetings.
Ensure regular update and maintenance of the long-term accommodation and OPEX models.
Contribute to the annual Long Range Business Plan by providing operational inputs / assumptions.
Support the Field Operations entity in its relationship with NOC Shareholders.
As part of these activities, the job holder is expected to :
Ensure dynamic interface with different NOC entities (FOPS, MP, E&C, CPD, RGS), with shareholders and with external contractor when mobilized.
Issue critical documents for development studies such as Operating Philosophy (preliminary to preFEED), OPEX estimate, Production availability study.
Conduct regular meetings with all stakeholders and ensure buy-in of study results by NOC Management.
Ensure that milestones and budgets are met and organize reviews and formal approval as required.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT :
CPD is accountable for NOC field development plans (new offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, debottlenecking of surface facilities, replacement of existing FSOs, etc).
All these activities could be executed across several international sites. Developments will require complex interfaces with other entities of NOC.
Position based onshore on a residential basis notionally working 5 day a week.
Visits to offshore locations required on an ad-hoc basis.
Occasional technical missions worldwide.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.
At least 10-15 years of experience in the offshore oil & gas environment
10 years in Field Operations Domain (including successful site-based assignment)
5 years at senior level within large multi-cultural task force team environment.
