University of Doha for Science and Technology Information Technology Directorate is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Information Technology (IT) Security Specialist.
Reporting to the Director Information Technology, Information Technology (IT) Security Specialist must possess the skills and expertise necessary to support the Information Technology Directorate of the University and fully implementing UDST’s mission and vision.
Duties & Responsibilities :
This position requires a proficient individual who can monitor, develop and advise on the overall security of UDST IT infrastructure and systems and to mitigate threats and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
The incumbent is also responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of strategies that reduce risk to the IT network, in support of business continuity.
configure University IT security systems to protect UDST network from malicious activities, and identify compromised University software and / or hardware and maintain / manage IT security and IT risk protocols, whilst ensuring system testing is accurately conducted in alignment with UDST guidelines.
The successful candidate will establish an IT security risk management program that will support UDSTs overall security objectives, in coordination with the relevant stakeholders and Conduct risk assessments and review system controls across UDST network, ensure security breaches are minimized.
The incumbent will organize and deliver IT security and IT risk training / workshops to ensure employees are aware of security threats and University security threat protocols, in coordination with the relevant stakeholders and participate in IT security training programs and committees to develop and promote security policies procedures that reflect UDSTs IT security goals.
The successful candidate will monitor security vulnerabilities and threats, and communicate risk mitigation and recommendations to the IT Manager in timely and efficient manner and anticipate and plan for new security threats by remaining up to date on security risks, evolving IT infrastructures, and developing strategies for mitigation
The incumbent will prepare reports to document IT security and IT risk maintenance, and ensure compliance with ITIL standards, University policies and procedures and audit requirements
The successful candidate will arrange and monitor a point of contact for UDST Employees to report IT security problems to ensure users, information and systems are protected in a timely manner, in accordance with University’s policy and procedures, and in coordination with the relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will advise Business Unit Managers and College Deans on implementing IT security controls, in accordance with UDST security and privacy compliance.
The incumbent will plan and recommend IT Security forecasting and expenditures, in alignment with UDST policies and procedures and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
