This dynamic position requires an experienced individual to work with a team of network engineers in the design, development and implementation of Qatar Petroleum's Cisco based infrastructure projects ranging from wired Layer 1, 2 and 3 to wireless.
The successful candidate will also play an integral role in maintaining and supporting QP remote sites where infrastructure solutions have been deployed.
A minimum of BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Telecommunication Engineering or related discipline.
Master's degree is preferred.
Holder of Cisco SDH / DWDM, CCNP, and / or CCIE certifications will be given strong preference.
Strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
A minimum of ten years overall IT experience with commercial or business organization
with at least five years of direct design, implementation and operation of SDH / DWDM Metropolitan Area Network projects.
Extensive working knowledge of telecommunication networks, SDH networks structure, and advanced routing and switching technologies.
Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with structured cabling infrastructure designs and solutions in data center environments and remote sites.
Strong knowledge and experience in supporting Cisco wired and wireless network devices and components using LAN and optical network management systems.
Extensive knowledge of high availability network technologies and solutions to support IP convergence requirements.
General good understanding and knowledge in data communication systems such as servers and storage.
