APPLICATION SUPPORT INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Primary purpose of job
Oversee the installation and maintenance of software applications in order to streamline business operations. Primary responsibilities consist of optimizing software application performance, installing updates, performing debugging procedures, remediate cyber security vulnerabilities, collaborating with other internal entities for optimal alignment with QatarEnergy’s policies and procedures.
Last but not least, utilizing internal tools and dashboards which range from server-specific to client-focused tools and dashboards
Experience & Skills
Good understanding of Oil and Gas business processes, practices and related business systems and technical applications
Ability to perform in a highly administrative and structured work environment.
Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems.
Strong knowledge of network, systems, desktop applications, server administration and databases.
Provide application installation / setup, maintenance / update, and application security as per QatarEnergy's Policies and standards.
Evaluate business and technical systems based on user needs by organising and participating in vendor evaluation meetings, designing tender technical evaluation criteria, bids evaluation and systems.
recommendation to ensure that the most appropriate solution is procured and implemented.
Implement preventive and corrective actions by performance monitoring and troubleshooting, reviewing usage of software licenses, liaising with multiple business departments, solution providers and vendors for enhancing reliability of deployed solutions.
Plan and conduct workshops by providing clarification on business and technical concerns, identify areas for improvement and meet agreed customer expectations to improve business effectiveness and usage of the system.
Apply security measures by following security procedures and standards to ensure secure environment.
Manage the external vendors, support partners for providing best Application Support services to the business.
Efficient troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Good organization, time management and prioritization.
Excellent experience in ITIL / ITSM.
Good knowledge in the following domain : o Cloud computing o Cyber security o IT infrastructure o Database Management o Project management
Liaise with vendors and other ICT Teams to resolve 3rd party issues with defined SLA.
Update of System life cycle documents (detailed design specs, requirements, documenting changes etc).
Resolve identified vulnerabilities within the defined SLA.
Communicating complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical business users.
Advanced MS windows troubleshooting experience.
Moderate DB infrastructure knowledge and familiar with common DB query languages i.e SQL.
Familiar with MS tools (Office 365, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
Familiar with Project Management concept and can manage ITI / 4 projects (upgrades, enhancements and customisation work) and adhere to the defined KPIs for such projects.
Excellent communication skills both internally and with business users.
Well organized and excellent documentation skills.
Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
Ability to keep up with innovation in application design.
Knowledge of and Experience in Implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Data Analytics including Algorithm and Model building , preferably for use cases in the Oil and Gas sector

Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Engineering / Petroleum / Business or equivalent
Minimum 6 years of progressive and directly related experience
International certifications IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
