Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established byEmiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oiland gas industry in the State of Qatar.

The principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures arethe exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil,natural gas and gas liquids, refined products, synthetic fuels,petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas(LNG), steel and aluminium.

QP’s strategy of conducting hydrocarbon exploration and development isthrough Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSA) andDevelopment and Production Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded withmajor international oil and gas companies.

The operations and activities of QP and its affiliates are conducted atvarious onshore locations, including Doha, Dukhan and the Mesaieed andRas Laffan Industrial Cities, as well as offshore areas, including HalulIsland, offshore production stations, drilling platforms and the NorthField.

Primary purpose of job

Responsible for Materials Procurement coordination with Purchasing department on behalf of Production department and ensure timely availability of various chemicals, catalyst and other essential materials (under Capex & Opex) required for safe, smooth and un-interrupted plant operation.

Liaises with Purchasing Department for arranging the necessary safety stocks. Liaises with Process Engineers for finalizing catalyst and chemicals changeover plans.

Participates in related Technical Evaluations and co-ordinates for Technical Evaluation of the quotations received from Purchasing Department.

Plans and mobilize resources like catalyst, adsorbents, grading inerts, utilities for Catalyst change out activities during and outside Shutdown.

Reviews optimum consumption of Catalysts and Chemicals and exercise control over supply of the same.

Experience & Skills

  • 10 Years experience in Refining industry in the areas of Material Coordination.
  • The duties require amicable efforts and good co-ordination skills with other Departments, Good Operational knowledge and understanding of Safe Operating Practices, Quick problems solving capabilities, Vigilance and control in operations, up-keep and safety of Operating Units.
  • Education

  • Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
