The BIM Project Manager is responsible forplanning and executing assigned BIM project by meeting theallocated time, resources and budget objectives Heshould be able to lead technical resources within multipledisciplines (structural, architecture, MEP) for the duration of aproject and ensures that applied BIM standards comply with thecontract terms.
He / she is responsible forleading a BIM project from A to Z.
He / she is ableto :
At overall management level :
Understand the project’ contractualrequirements and clearly define expected BIM scope;
Define BIM Information workflows and keyprocedures;
Define the required BIMresources needed and provide training if required;
Prepare BIM ICT requirements in terms of software andhardware;
Establish a BIM schedule in linewith the overall project schedule;
Estimatea BIM budget and monitor it;
Follow-up andsupport the BIM leaders in their scope (Structure, Architecture,HVAC, Plumbing, Fire, Electrical & IT, Communicationsystems, 3D scanning, QS surveying, Methods andCoordination);
Serve as focal point for BIM,internally, with client, partners and subcontractors;
Participate in writing the BIM technical requirementsand work interface elements of the subcontractors’ BIMobligations towards the Contractor;
Scheduleand act as chairman of BIM coordination meetings;
Report to the project’ design manager till thedetailed design phase and to the technical manager fromconstruction documentation till handover phase;
Establish BIM progress reports on agreedfrequency;
Translate above into a BIMManagement plan (in collaboration with all stakeholders) and ensureits content is followed. The objective of the BIM Management planshall be in line with the overall project managementobjectives.
