    Department Profile :

    The Human Capital Directorate invites applications for the position of Compensation and Benefits Specialist. Reporting to the Supervisor, Compensation and HC Operations, the Compensation and Benefits Specialist must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Human Capital Directorate in fully implementing the University’s mission and vision.

    Duties & Responsibilities :

    This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will implement a compensation and benefits scheme for employees, to ensure retention of staff and contribute towards the establishment of a reward-based performance culture, which will improve employee performance, organizational trust and satisfaction.

    The successful candidate will provide input on the development of a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organizational objectives and support with managing the salary and benefit records and documents of all employees at UDST, while keeping track of all employees’ transactions relating to loans, advances, reimbursements and allowances, and ensuring compliance with pertaining policies.

    The incumbent of this position will review queries relating to compensation and benefits schemes, as well as to pay levels and structures, and take appropriate measures to resolve escalated cases.

    He / she will process calculation, payments or adjustments of payroll and ensure that computing, withholding and deductions are completed accurately.

    The successful candidate will handle the timely transfer of payroll related data to Finance, and communicate with the relevant stakeholders in the HC Directorate to establish the integrity of the payroll data.

    In addition, the successful candidate will enrol employees and their eligible dependents in the medical benefits provided by UDST and handle any requests relating to insurance in a timely and efficient manner.

    On an overall basis, the Compensation and Benefits Specialist will be an expert in administering payroll, benefits and entitlements for all employees, and providing necessary support in this regard.

    Qualifications

    Education and Certifications :

    Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field

    Payroll certification preferred

    Experience :

    Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in payroll processing or related field

    Language :

    Fluency in written and spoken English language is required

    Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred

    Other Required Skills :

    Professional and friendly nature and a proactive attitude to work is required. Possessing good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively, is essential.

    The incumbent should also have analytical thinking and problem solving, along with the ability to demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills.

    Fluency in English language is required and Arabic is preferred.
