Project : This is a conceptualised villages project in the heart and outskirts of Doha.
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking planning manager to join our established and growing team in Qatar.
Your responsibilities will include :
Being able to work within multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards analysing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
Managing schedule / planning of limited complexity or participating in the delivery of medium / high complexity projects / programmes under direction.
Understanding the overall project lifecycle in line with Mace Way (Control Centre) from design through to handover.
Being aware of current planning and scheduling methodologies.
Building an understanding of the common tool sets used on a typical Mace project.
Developing critical thinking skills to interrogate data and information.
Being able to lead negotiations with third parties as a planning / schedule management specialist.
Being able to respond to client / stakeholder requests effectively and sensitively.
Producing and managing accurate records for all project issues as required.
Complying with Mace’s processes and procedures and delivering our services in line with Mace core values.
Managing the detailed schedule for the pre and post contract phases in consultation with other project members / stakeholders.
Working closely with the contractors, evaluating their schedules and actively managing the schedules with them to ensure a successful outcome.
Managing and maintaining schedules on a variety of projects with project manager at the same time.
Overseeing schedules at various phases from feasibility through to handover to the client.
Assisting the construction team by re-aligning workload and programmes.
Preparing target programmes to issue to subcontractors.
Monitoring and preparing progress reports with the project manager.
Providing information to the main contractor to assist in obtaining an extension of time approval for a number of sectional completion dates.
Providing information to senior managers on workforce requirements.
Coordinating void closure for rooms, monitoring remedial works issued by others.
Preparing commissioning programmes and setting up procedures to monitor commissioning activities and collating documentation in readiness for O&M's.
Managing snagging / defects and schedule of outstanding works schedules.
Producing a number of site diagrams to the section of work area and system.
Assigning and managing roles and resources in Primavera P6.
You have a degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the construction, programme, project or commercial management disciplines and be a member of a professional body.
You have experience as a technical professional with planning / schedule management. You have experience of programme or project management equating quality and value with the individual client.
You have a general understanding of all aspects of planning and scheduling, how they complement each other and wider project delivery.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have experience delivering projects from start through to completion within a consultancy industry and be poised to expand your own horizons, those of our clients and of our ambitious people alike.
You have a construction or cost consultancy project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
