DohaAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction and Arbitration Associate to join a thriving construction and arbitration practice in Doha, Qatar.
The role will suit someone who is looking to develop their career at the Associate level, in a firm and team which holds a leading rank amongst independent legal directories, as well as working on high-value and complex disputes before the ICC, QICCA, DIAC as well as ad-hoc arbitrations.
Although this role is predominantly dispute focused, the ideal candidate will be expected to perform non-contentious work for major local and international developers and construction companies.
Responsibilities : Preparing high-quality briefs and memorandums in active arbitration proceedings.Drafting witness statements.
Advising client’s on non-contentious matters including drafting and negotiating bespoke (design and build, traditional, design and build, etc.
and standard form contracts (FIDIC, NEC, and others).Effectively managing associate, paralegal, and secretarial resources.
Pre-dispute negotiation and preparation.Qualifications : A qualified lawyer with 1+ years of PQE.Excellent written and verbal English language skills (being English and Arabic bilingual would be an advantage).
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the construction industry from a legal perspective.
