The School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades invites applications for positions at the level of Assistant Technical Instructor, Industrial Trades - Mechanical.
Reporting to Department Chair of Industrial Trades, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses within the Industrial Trades Mechanical programs.
S / he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment. The successful candidate will liaise with industry and other educational institutions;
participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area.
Faculty members will engage in instructional development / improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Skilled Trade certification in Industrial Mechanic or Millwright (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications :
Professional Industrial Mechanic or Millwright licensure (or equivalent)
Welding Certification would be an asset
10+ years of employment experience with a combination of experience as a practitioner / professional within the relevant discipline as well experience in a supervisory / management role within the relevant discipline
Teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment
Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Education (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education)
Record of successful participation / leadership in applied research projects
Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects
Qualification of CNC Machining Certification would be an asset
A minimum of five (5) years of employment experience as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.
