About the role

We are recruiting for Lead Training & Development Officer, to be based in Doha, Qatar.

The Lead Training & Development Officer will be responsible for the introduction and updating of eLearning courseware for all fleets in line with regulatory requirements and smooth running of the LMS system.

In this role, you will ensure that all eLearning courseware is developed as per required departmental standards and all processes pertaining to storyboarding, development, testing, implementation, enrolments, expiries, extensions, escalations, troubleshooting and exam failures are monitored and followed.

Specific responsibilities for the role include :

  • Ensure administration of different systems / software used within the department.
  • Scope and write detailed specifications of the requirements for new and existing courseware in liaison with relevant assigned personnel.
  • Utilise all available tools for the development of courses and exams which includes the effective use of text, images, videos, audio and animations.
  • Ensure accuracy of content is maintained while getting computer-based training converted into e-learning SCORM (scalable component object reference model) & AICC (Aviation Industry Computer Based Training Committee) compliant courses using de-compilers.
  • Ensure timelines agreed for development of eLearning courseware are achieved and the relevant training is implemented in the system as per department standards.
  • Manage the rollout of all eLearning courseware.
  • Monitor content and exam databases for all e-learning courseware and ensure it is refreshed and updated as per department processes.
  • Regularly analysing the functionalities of eLearning System and its processes and suggesting ways of improving them whilst ensuring QR requirements are met.
  • Seek feedback from Training management regarding quality and standards of eLearning delivery and resolve any issues identified through liaison with relevant stakeholders.
  • Analysing the Feedback from users / trainees for further enhancement of the content of the learning material to make it more user friendly.
  • Gather requirements and propose enhancements to eLearning system and processes whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with third party vendors to ensure courseware is customized to their required standards in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Organise and conduct internal training programs as and when requested by management as per established schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute relevant training related materials as and when required.
  • Apply the Analysis, design and development, deliver and evaluation (ADDDE) concept for imparting training and learning interventions to ensure output of the training is maximized.
  • Effectively troubleshoot any operational issues through liaison with relevant stakeholders and suggest solutions for timely resolutions.
  • Scope and write detailed specifications (Storyboard) the requirements for the new and existing content in liaison with the training management.
  • Ensure course content used on the LMS is in compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Develop individual training programmes that meet the skills gap identified through training needs assessment.
  • Develop and implement effective induction programmes and material in liaison with managers and colleagues.
  • Conduct Audit on a regular agreed basis to maintain compliance requirements for ensuring training records are comprehensive and kept up to date.
  • Develop, periodically review and update, SOPs to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop / implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

    About you

    The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications :

  • Relevant College or University qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years airline job-related experience.
  • Sound knowledge of flight operations training policies and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of aviation manuals and regulations.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment, strong interpersonal skills, friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrate abstract reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, exposure working with large multicultural workforce.
  • Ability to conduct training need analysis, design and develop training programs to meet departmental goals.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
