Sports cardiology is a rapidly evolving, rich and rewarding subspecialty in cardiology which involves the cardiovascular care of athletes and active individuals.
The Sports Cardiologist provides a comprehensive service, from initial patient contact to formulating individual recommendations for sports and exercise participation, regular follow-up consultations for athletes and active individuals with cardiovascular conditions, and the development & implementation of cardiac emergency action plans in sport to prevent sudden cardiac death.
Role Purpose :
Aspetar’s Sports Cardiology program was established in 2008; we have more than 12 years’ experience, state-of-the art facilities and equipment providing a unique opportunity for a Clinical Specialist Fellow in Sports Cardiology to gain further clinical experience.
The Fellow will develop a comprehensive range of sports cardiology clinical skills, only possible through being exposed to a variety of athletes from different sporting codes, disciplines, ages, levels of participation, gender and ethnicity.

Working in a multidisciplinary and unique multicultural environment, the Clinical Specialist Fellowship program includes educational and research opportunities as well as ongoing clinical mentorship to support well-rounded clinicians and future leaders in the field of sports cardiology.
Education and Experience :
Applicants must be Cardiology specialists with training and one to two years’ experience in sports cardiology, board-certified or board eligible, and eligible to become licensed to practice Cardiology in Qatar.
