To participate in effective and efficient managementof Marine Resources in order to carry out all Marine functionswithin the business.
To support the Marine Manager in theManagement of the company’s Vessels. To ensure Marine complies withall statutory and legislative matters, with particular attention tothe ISM / ISPS codes, class requirements / trainings / Contractcompliance.
And in accordance with all local and international lawsand regulations. Key Roles &Responsibilities : Ensuring Company owned and managed vesselsare operated in a safe , efficient and economical manner and infull compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
Liaising withTechnical superintendent’s and vessel Masters with reference toCertification.Liaising with the personnel department regardingaspects of Travel, crew changes and other personnel issues inconjunction with the Vessel Master.
Monitor crew overlapdays.Monitor crew compliance with STCW 95 ( as amended), MLC andother training requirements.Ensure that Vessels Planned MaintenanceSystem (Deck dept), is being operated and reported in the mannerprescribed in the Companies SMS system and is in compliance withISM code and MLC 2006.
Ensuring that all Mandatory proceduresi.e Tool box talks, Risk assessments , permits to work systems are used effectively and filed for audit purpose.
Ensure thatvessels carry required publications , procedures , operationalmanuals, and other documents required by the flag state and otherregulatory bodies, and that these are updated as required.
Ensurethat IMCA guidelines and best industry practices are adhered to atall times, with regard to vessel DP operations, equipment andpersonnel requirements.
Ensure that the fleets DP equipment is infully operational state of readiness at all times.Attend Annual DPtrials & FMEA Trials of existing and New Build vessels.
Activelypromoting safety awareness among all Company Personnel.Undertakingvisit’s offshore to vessels on location to conduct on boardtraining to the Officers and crew.
Visit to locations for Takingover new Build vessels or Inspections of vessels as required by theManagement.Undertake visits of Manning Agencies for Annualaudits.
Assisting in internal and external audits of vessels.Carryout internal OVID inspections of vessels in preparation for allcharterers.
Monitor the performance of sub-contractors.BudgetControl and Revision and co-ordination of Budget compliance.Assistin In-house Training on Ship Handling / DP simulator.
Assume duties ofMarine Manager as required.Take over Duties of Marine Manager asrequired.Ensure operations / work processes occur in accordance withall relevant legal, regulatory, and any other standards andrequirements to which compliance is requiredEnsure the health andsafety of all employees and the protection of the environment forall sites / work premises under their control.
