About your Job :

Senior Manager Base Maintenance will be responsible for all maintenance activities performed on Qatar Airways fleet of aircrafts.

This role is responsible in ensuring that the quality and safety standards are maintain across all activities within Base Maintenance Department.

Specific responsibilities of the role include :

OPERATIONAL

Performs all planned maintenance, defect rectification, modifications and special inputs in accordance with the standards set within Technical Division and in compliance with QCAR-145 and EASA regulations.

Ensures that any corrective action resulting from quality audits are completed in timely manner.

Manages all checks through Production Control and works closely with all key interfaces such as Supply Chain and Engineering.

Manages availability of work force as determined by Technical Planning Group.

Ensure productivity and check efficiency through Production Control and Planning.

Works with Planning, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure all Production Control activities are managed effectively.

Makes keys decisions and manages risks through tactical deployment of resources to support the operation.

Manages the performance of the Base Maintenance Group and continuously develops and improves processes and procedures.

Ensures fleet status is known, co-ordinates and communicates with Maintenance operations control at all times.

Ensures work is performed in accordance with industry safety, company, QCAA and EASA regulations.

Encourages all staff members to perform their duties in cost effective manner.

Participates in the continuous improvement process via the maintenance occurrence reporting system.

Monitors trouble shooting effectiveness, avoidable delay performance and repetitiveness of defect and recommends action plan.

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

Establishes the Department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives

Regularly evaluates the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures, practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.

Oversees and supervises employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Trains and develops other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.

To be committed and contribute to the National talent development, by coaching the national developees, preparing for them for a career with boundless potential.

About You :

You must have relevant College or University qualification to minimum Bachelor’s level. You are required to have minimum of 10 years aviation technical experience in a large Maintenance Organization.

You must be in a management role for at least 5 years. You have good knowledge of health and safety in the aircraft maintenance environment.

You are able to work in a highly pressurized working environment with high volume activities. You have previous experience in engaging with a diverse workforce and a proven record of accomplishment of developing action plans and measuring its success.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have strong negotiation skills and ability to influence outcomes.
