Project : This is a conceptualised villages project in the heart and outskirts of Doha.
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior construction manager HSE to join our established and growing team in Qatar.
Your responsibilities will include :
Guiding and directing the development and implementation of H&S policies, strategies, programs, and standards.
Keeping staff fully informed of the H&S program and applicable legislative and assurance requirements.
Ensuring adequate procedures are implemented to evaluate the adequacy of H&S compliance and performance across the programme.
Managing directly the contractor and consultants in all aspects of HSE.
Identifying and controlling significant loss producing exposures, providing summary strategic reports and recommendations to the leadership team.
Playing a visible role in H&S leadership and direction to the project.
Providing guidance and recommendation to all business units.
Liaising and interacting with the client and key stakeholders.
Keeping fully informed of all existing and proposed changes in applicable regulations and legislation.
Producing and managing accurate records for all project issues as required.
Complying with Mace’s processes and procedures and delivering our services in line with Mace’s core values.
Conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow-up assessments.
Planning, implementing, and conducting preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
Planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental safety & health programs at the project site location under the direction of the senior construction manager (HSE).
Providing project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirming project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
Collaborating with management to develop an emergency action plan and serving as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
Maintaining a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
Preparing and conducting safety training sessions for employees and vendors.
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Doing research on environmental regulations and policies and instituting changes to ensure compliance.
Tracking incident metrics and applying findings.
Overseeing the applications for and receipt of necessary permits.
Leading injury and incident inquiries and evaluations.
You will have a degree or diploma qualification in safety with any other certification in first aid, CPR, OSHA (Preferable), and a member of a professional body.
You will have a good understanding of industry best practices. You will have good project understanding - both time and budget.
You will have good skills in communicating and presenting.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have experience delivering projects from start through to completion within a consultancy industry and be poised to expand your own horizons, those of our clients and of our ambitious people alike.
