Doha Role Summary You will be responsible for managing Group Compliance Sanctions staff and oversee advisory services linked to the economic and financial sanctions imposed by the UN, EU, USA and all other major sanction programs imposed by any party that could have an impact on QNB Group business and operations.
You will need to be pro-active in engaging with any new sanctions coming into the banking industry, fact finding for both local and international markets.
Key responsibility lies in preventing the Group from being exposed to the risk of legal / regulatory sanctions.Role Description Support QNB Group in protecting from legal, regulatory and reputational risk related to business operations involving sanctioned countries and / or entities
Assist the Head of Sanctions in preparation of the annual sanction plan and related policies for approval by the Group Audit & Compliance Committee
Assist the Head of Sanctions to ensure that QNB Group operates in accordance with all regulatory requirements & standards to protect and enhance the reputation of the Group.
Ensure OFAC, EU, UN and other relevant sanctions rules and programs as well as QNB Group Policy are applied to daily payment clearance process, and coordinate significant issues with Head of Sanctions & Chief Financial Crime Compliance
Liaise with other business functions on transactions related requests and decide on these in full compliance of existing sanctions regulations and QNB Group policies
Identify and escalate all issues which are currently not covered by QNB Group policies, standards or procedures, draft and implement possible solutions
Assist in developing and delivering annual Sanction training program to ensure QNB Group employees have appropriate awareness of Sanctions risks and requirements
Supervise, and manage daily Sanction team operations and ensure workflow requests are action timely, payments are cleared within given TAT and MIS is updated on daily basis
Assist in establishing a mechanism to follow up on all the regulatory changes for all the financial services operations, locally and internationally;
Support sanctions-relevant reporting obligations across QNB Group, locally and internationally, to competent authorities Qualifications Bachelor degree with relevant professional qualifications such as CAMS / CCO / CIA.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a major banking institution or regulatory agency relating to Compliance or Internal Audit.
Exposure and experience in working within Sanctions.
Minimum of 3 years.
Experience of Team Management and leading people.
