The Plumber is responsible for all plumbing operations to include the direction of all new construction, remodel and repair jobs that involve any aspect of plumbing installations.
Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from supervisors.
Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.
Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites.
Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems in support of plant construction and maintenance activities.
Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
Locates and repairs defective plumbing fixtures and pipe.
Services hot heater heaters.
Provides O&M related services for latrines and the water works system for structures including pre-existing and portable containers.
Performs O&M plumbing consisting of all materials and labor from the first valve and manhole to the building including all plumbing fixtures and piping contained within, and outside the building.
Performs other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of the plumbing trade including the installation, repair and maintenance of hot and cold water lines, sewer pipe, soil pipe, traps and appliances such as water closets, lavatories, urinals, showers and tubs.
Ability to follow blueprints, diagrams and engineering specifications.
Working knowledge of plumbing fuel lines to include Forward Area Refueling Points (FARPs).

Experience & Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years’ experience as a licensed plumber.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
