BACKGROUND OF COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
CMED) The College of Medicine is anewly established college at Qatar University and represents the onlynational medical college in the state of Qatar.
The College implementsan innovative integrated, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum,promoting small group and self-directed learning.
The language ofinstruction is English. Hamad Medical Cooperation (HMC) and itsaffiliated hospitals, and Primary Health Care centers (PHCC) in Qatarare the primary clinical training facilities of the College.
BASICFUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Supports and maintains the University’snational and international reputation for excellence in teaching andresearch, and thus positively participates in the overall contributionof the Medical College and Qatar University at large.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes in building andenhancing an innovative College of Medicine for the state of Qatar.
Strong commitment to teaching, with proficiency inteaching, in the relevant field for medical students.
Contributes to the enhancement and development of other curricular activities.
Participate in the teaching of clinicalskills at the pre-clerkship phase
Organise andparticipate in clinical assessments and examinations including OSCEs
Facilitate small group teaching such asProblem-Based Learning (PBL) tutorials;
Liaise withPrimary HealthCare corporation to ensure successful delivery of theEarly Clinical Experience (ECE) program currently in place
Organise clinical CME / CPD activities for primary care facultydevelopment geared towards successful delivery of the ECEprogram.
Fosters a supportive and mentoring environmentfor students.
Fosters academic and interdisciplinaryresearch links with the relevant departments and centers at theUniversity, being a member of one of the 3 research divisions : centerfor translational molecular medicine, public health and medical education.·
Promotes and communicates the work of theCollege to the public through a variety of community outreachactivities, including workshops, lectures, publications, conferences,secondary school visits etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Board certification orMasters Degree in Family Medicine from a recognized and accredited university.
Medical qualification / degree (MD, MBBS,MBBCh)· Strong background and demonstrated excellence inteaching of the relevant field in a medical college, preferably in aninnovative integrated curriculum and using Problem-Based Learning (PBL)strategy.
Experience and / or scholarship in medicaleducation’ is preferred.
Ability to workeffectively in a multi-cultural environment.· Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
Effectiveinterpersonal and administrative skills.
Excellence ininterpersonal behaviors and commitment to effective team-workcollaboration with colleagues.
Proficiency in Englishand Arabic (both written and verbal) is preferred.*For clinicalspecialties (additional to the Medical Degree) : - Board certified inFamily Medicine (American, Canadian etc.
or- Royal CollegeMembership / Fellowship in the relevant clinical specialty (MRGP); or-Arab Board in Family Medicine.
