It is also home to the world’s only terminal dedicated to Qatar Airways First and Business Class passengers.

About your job : : JOB PURPOSE :

JOB PURPOSE :

You will manage and successfully deliver assigned IT projects and solutions around Operational Systems of Airport and ERP : Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in compliance with the project standards and processes of IT, to meet defined business requirements within agreed timescales and cost.

You will lead assigned projects throughout the project phases from initiation to closure; support and enhancement of the complete solution.

This includes leading and managing operational systems support within assigned business units. You will contribute to Business - IT strategy & IT budgeting of the assigned business units.

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

1. For each project ensure :

  • Project plans are realistic, maintained and properly resourced.
  • Delivery is within time and cost.
  • It is carried out through the defined phases, effective quality assurance and the overall integrity; focusing on compliance to the IT Security, Design & Transition of New or Changed Services, Release & Change Management and other relevant IT Service Management processes and KPl’s.
  • Solutions meet agreed requirements and business expectations, are maintainable and meet documented and agreed criteria.
  • This requires that all solutions are adequately tested (functional, non -functional, performance and integration) before User Acceptance Testing.

  • Risks are assessed and mitigation / management strategies are designed.
  • Timely and accurate project information and reporting are provided to IT management and business.
  • Ensure that operational systems are adequately supported.
  • 2. Manage the systems support teams / suppliers to :

  • Analyze system faults, assess severity levels, and provide solutions.
  • Link similar problems by users or systems to enable detailed reporting and trend analysis.
  • Ensure service reviews are conducted regularly for external suppliers.
  • 3. Perform business analysis activities to analyze user requirements and define solutions meeting those requirements

    and document system specifications.

    4. Provide fair and accurate feedback on the performance of resources assigned to projects and application support.

    5. Contribute in preparation of Business - IT strategy and IT budgeting of assigned business divisions.

    6. Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

    7. Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

    Q u a l i f i ca t i o n s :

    Essential :

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level.
  • Degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Mathematics / Science.
  • P r evious Experience :

    Essential :

  • To be successful in the role you must hold a Bachelor's degree either in Computer Science or Engineering and PMP, PRINCE 2 or similar certification.
  • You must have at least 7 years of specialized technical experience, ideally within a project based IT environment.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years as senior resource in IT projects. Technical / functional lead for development and / or business requirements analysis coupled with expertise in MS Office and VISIO.
  • You must be highly motivated / self-starter with a sense of ownership, willingness to learn and a strong desire to succeed.
  • You must have the ability to accomplish specific task within a reasonable time frame.
  • You should also have strong detail orientation and high degree of accuracy and ability to communicate effectively with business and technical users is a must.
  • Experience in managing multiple IT customer support teams in an airport / aviation industry. Including dealing with all levels of staff in a professional manner.
  • Experience in leading IT projects, ideally at a major airport.
