Provides consistent safe leadership toassigned Roustabout and ensures that all work performed is inaccordance with established operating limits of crane operations.

Instructs a crew of Roustabouts to perform tasks such assandblasting, scrapping, painting to ensure a high standard ofhousekeeping is maintained on the rig.

Ensuring Loadsare within Crane Capacity :

Operates variousfixed diesel and electro-hydraulic rig pedestal cranes of varyingjib lengths and lifting capacities to load, unload, move and stackvarious heavy materials such as machinery, equipment, tubularpipes, fuel baskets and food containers.

Ensures thatloads are within crane capacity and carries out operations smoothlyand in accordance with correct company and OEM operatingprocedures.

Regular Maintenance Checks :

Carries out regular maintenance checks based on PMsystem on all types of cranes on assigned rig. Includes generalinspection, repair and lubrication of derrick, hoist ropes andsheaves, checking of slewing ring, boom connection pins, Safe loadindicators and limit switches.

Checkspedestal on a regular basis to locate surface cracks, metal fatigueor strain.

Arranges follow-up maintenance on majoritems not within his capability to ensure that the crane ismaintained in an optimum and safe working condition at all times.

Reports deficiencies immediately to Barge Engineer and relevanttrade.
