The key responsibilities are :

  • Supporting the strategic planning exercise by providing relevantfinancial data and carrying out feasibility studies to assessviability of proposed projects.
  • Contributing to theprovision of financial advice and financial information tomanagement through effective operation of the Finance accountingfunction and control of key financial process.
  • Implementing work processes designed to enhance internal controlwithin Finance and processes in providing sound accounting adviceto the Finance team.
  • Contributing to the preparation andapproval of operating and capital budgets and monitor these bydesigning appropriate controls so that the organization operateswithin the budget framework.
  • Contributing to thepreparation of financial statements and maintenance of books ofaccounts with the aim to ensure that financial statements areprepared in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assisting in thepreparation and review of the month-end and year-end closingschedules aimed at meeting all critical deadlines.
  • Coordinating with the Internal Auditor, ensuring the propermaintenance of all financial records and their adherence toapproved accounting policies, procedures, work instructions andauthorization levels.
  • Liaising with internal andexternal auditors regarding audit requirements and implement auditrecommendations.
  • Assisting in the review, analyze andinterpret accounting and financial reports for senior managementand provide assistance in formulating recommendations tomanagement.
  • Assisting in the implementation ofcomputerized accounting system including project progressmonitoring and contribute to the development of system userprocedures.
  • The Successful Applicant The ideal canddiate will havethe following :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountingor equivalent.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA,CIMA, CPA or CAT is mandatory.
  • Prior work experience ata leading investment fund, institutional global asset managementfirm, hedge fund, pension fund or sovereign wealth fund is hugelydesireable
  • years in Accounting with experiencein General Ledger management and preparation of financialstatements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills
  • Computer skills, especially Excel andapplied systems What's on Offer Excellent exposure andgreat work-life balance
