About Your Job : As a Buying Officer you will handle a portfolio of brands / vendors within the category of which include the need to source for new suppliers, negotiate the best possible price and terms with suppliers, analyze trends / products sales in order to accurately evaluate the performance of category.
You will prepare and implement new product launches and promotional activities with the support of suppliers, conduct price / product comparison with other duty free and local / international market ensuring the offer is in line with the market offer to maximize sales opportunity.
You will attend trade shows to keep abreast of the changing market place. You will analyze various reports / statistics such as stock reports, mark-up analysis, sale reports, accounts statements and passenger statistics, recommending appropriate action plans to the category manager to enhance or maintain budget margins by increasing sales or reducing cost.
You will plan the logistical tasks in such a manner as to reduce cost and ensure the continuous and smooth flow of stocks to the retail operations considering the lead times from source for the manufacturing, shipping and custom clearance.
It is your role to facilitate competition check in relation to stock, process, promotions, product launches, fixtures and fittings to ensure that QDFC offer 5 star customer services in value of money and latest stocks.
You will work in coordination with other department (Retail, Marketing and Merchandising) on various promotion activities to plan and execute promotional events within the category.
About You : You should hold a Bachelor Degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience. Degree in Purchasing, Retailing, Marketing and or Business Administration is essential.
To be successful in this role you should have excellent communication skills and strong leadership skills to lead and direct the work of the team.
You should have proven track record in the ability to manage stock on a day-to-day basis and proven track record of handling complex issues and negotiations.
You must have analytical skills and understanding of statistical process control with an advanced knowledge and experience in using Oracle and Navision inventory management.
You should have the ability to organize and prioritize tasks on a regular basis.Note : you will be required to attach the following : 1.
