Maintains and updates the ROPtracking system for the NICU; communicates with the neona-tologist,ophthalmology service, and NICU staff;
and ensures that an accuratelist of infants needing examinations is devel-oped each week.Thisincludes inpatients and outpatients.
Maintainsa system for identifying and tracking all infants requiring ROPexams based on standard guidelines. The database is regularlyupdated to provide a weekly screening list for theophthalmologist.
Accompanies the physician andnurse to the NICU on weekly ROP rounds.
Involves in trainings to use the RetCam and gather imagesto be able to ask advice remotely.Helps in organizing and arrangingROP treatment between NICU and OR.
Helps with training of otherstaff to help in ROP screening on NICU and in future possibly inthe community.
Works with nursing staff,families, and the team to develop and share family educationmaterials.Facilitates communication between the neonatology andophthalmology services, and between families andproviders.
Participates in clinical ROPresearch.
