The position requires shift work and willprovide support to the Operational Engineering Division as a memberof the Transport team.
The primary role of Transport is to restoreany network-impacting event affecting customer service. The teamaccomplishes this goal using a variety of resources, knowledge, andexpertise to perform fault isolation, analysis, and troubleshootingacross various Transport platforms including SONET Optical / FiberTransport (ODXC / MSPP), Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM), Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), and cryptographicsystems.
ManageGTMS ticket reporting, in accordance with Change Managementprocedures
Ifavailable, use SOPs, TTPs, and WIs to complete Changetasks
Performnetwork monitoring to assess if deployed changes have causedimpacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of trafficbehavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting
Engagewith other engineers to determine the best practice and operationof the network to maintain constant operation
Determinethe most efficient configuration of the network based onEngineering documents and experience
Provideinput to Government customer on best practice for the operation andmaintenance of the network
