About Your Job : You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the program / project such as, defining and managing the scope and milestones, identifying and mitigating program risks, coordinating with all internal / external stake holders to accomplish critical program tasks and communicating up to date program status, You will ensure program cost remains within defined budget, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, environmental and Qatar Airways requirements for required product.

You will also ensure that Qatar Airways maintain its brand distinction with newest cost effective technology available that meets high quality standard of 5 star Airline requirements

Operational / Tactical

  • Responsible to identify Aircraft Program performance improvement opportunities and select projects based on value addition to achieve objectives.
  • Develop detailed requirements documents for IFEC / New Technologies.

  • Manage all projects of substantial modifications for Qatar Airways and customer fleet (e.g. Cabin retrofit, IFE System retrofit).
  • Serve as a key focal in delivering all projects and programs within defined timelines, ensuring that the delivered product meets the quality and standards defined by Qatar Airways.

    Check and ensure that all the technical data and technical drawings are issued to the vendors before its implementation on QR projects.

  • Evaluate and define the budgetary estimations for all new projects / programs. Maintain a follow up throughout the project to ensure that all expenditures are within the defined budget.
  • Oversee the technical evaluation and selection of all aircraft equipment and products in coordination with all stake holders, departments and Tender Committee.
  • Maintain follow-up of newly introduced products until maturity to ensure that the product is performing as intended.
  • Assist Contract Department in preparing Request for Information, Request for Proposal and Purchase Agreement documents for selection of new equipment.
  • Participate in contract negotiations to finalize the terms and conditions of the selected product. Liaise with all internal stake holders to define Product specifications and associated Purchase Agreements.

  • Develops and reviews contingency plans with the end user for the relevant process.
  • Develop all SOPs relevant to the Project implementation and transition. Ensure that all projects are delivered according to their defined specifications and meet Qatar Airways quality standards and ensure :
  • Compliance with overall project plan
  • Product design is finalized as per Qatar Airways product specifications
  • All technical and program issues / action-items are identified and resolved in a timely manner
  • Monitoring and compliance with project milestones
  • Ensure all company procedures and policies are adhered to.

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level or equivalent or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Preferred

  • Engineering Degree in Aeronautics / Mechanical / Electronics / Electrical (or related fields).
  • Additional Management qualifications.
  • Previous Experience : Essential


  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience
  • Experience in leading a team of professionals.
  • Experience in type of aircraft used by Qatar Airways.
  • Experience in Airline Development Engineering, Aircraft Projects, equipment selection process and / or technical contracts negotiations
  • Experience in managing large and complex projects.
  • Experience in managing multi-cultural staff.
  • Job Specific Skills : Essential


  • Well versed on all facets of project management, set bench marks for projects timeline, evaluate and manage work flows
  • Strong analytical, comparative, innovative and creative skills.
  • Strong Knowledge of MS-Office, MS Share point.
  • Excellent command of English language with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

    Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members
