This position is in the Clinical Research Core at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar (WCM-Q). The Clinical Research Core supports and develops clinical research within the College in collaboration with the College’s faculty, research staff, and affiliated healthcare organizations.
The incumbent will work under the Associate Director of Clinical Research to provide data and statistical support to clinical research staff in the College and affiliated researchers, ensuring data validation, integrity, quality and readiness.
Analyzes a broad range of clinical research data.
Supports the development of a robust clinical research data system with data manager roles and responsibilities. Works closely with the Associate Director of Clinical Research, faculty and ITS to create customized systems for individual researchers.
Collaborates with research partners in study design and implementation including determining appropriate methods for data entry and maintaining consistent data management protocols and statistical analysis plans.
Develops and creates custom datasets and reports.
Undertakes statistical analyses of clinical study data, as well as preparing documentation and reports for steering committees and collaborators.
Prepares tables and figures, assimilates relevant literature and prepares reports for internal discussion, as well as contributing to preparation of manuscripts.
Performs, tests, and documents data migration of clients’ research data from legacy systems.
Participates in software testing activities, corrects any reported issues on application to ensure the quality of deliverables.
Trains staff on use of the electronic data system and creates data management plans.
Works with the Associate Director of Clinical Research to create Standard Operating Procedures for programming and data management as needed.
Assists the team with linking data from portable electronic devices.
Assists in the organization, preparation and delivery of training programs run by the Core.
Develops and maintains program / script code conforming to stringent formatting and documentation requirements.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Prior medical statistics experience is required.
Prior experience in an academic research environment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong technical acumen and familiarity with various web development technologies.
In-depth knowledge of common statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, Stata, SAS)
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks alongside each other, and the flexibility to respond effectively to changing demands and priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to produce clear and concise written material.
Applicant should be comfortable in Linux, Windows and Macintosh environments.
Proficiency with HIPAA, HLA-7, and 21 CFR Part 11 electronic regulations.

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar
Foundation. The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at university level, WCM-Q offers an integrated program of pre-
medical and medical studies leading to the Cornell University M.D. degree. Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) who hold Weill Cornell appointments.
Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first year pre-medical students in fall 2002 to over 200 students from more than 30 countries as we entered our sixth year of operation in September 2007.
