The incumbent will contribute to the organization by supervising the day-to-day activities of the section staff and taking responsibility for ensuring that performance metrics are monitored and managed across PHCC, both internally in the directorate (Quality Improvement & Accreditation Department, Risk Management & Patient Safety Department and Policies and Procedures Management Section) and across other headquarter directorate and health centers.

They will be responsible to provide analysis and interpretation on performance reports based on trends to support leadership in monitoring and managing their performance and in taking informed decisions to improve performance.

  • Provide input and support in the development of the Performance Management Frameworks and indicators required for internal & external reporting.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Data and Performance Measurement, support the Health Centers (HC) and Headquarters (HQ) to have meaningful PIs and KPIs and that which can be monitored and tracked for improvements.
  • Liaise with leaders and decision makers on an annual basis to add, remove or modify indicators across headquarters and health centers and with input from the Head of Data and Performance Measurement.
  • Establish an effective process for monitoring and managing performance across Health Centers (HC) and Headquarters (HQ) under the guidance of the Manager of Data & Performance Management.
  • Facilitate the Quality Improvement Section to develop Performance Improvement Initiatives based on the reports and analysis and support monitoring of improvements through additional reports if needed.
  • Facilitate the Risk Management & Patient Safety Section to develop new KPIs or / and PIs based on the risk assessments and the findings from Systematic System Analysis (SSA).
  • Facilitate the Policies and Procedures Management Section to develop new KPIs and / or PIs based on monitoring compliance to policies developed by stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the Accreditation Section to develop new KPIs and / or PIs based on monitoring compliance to accreditation criteria
  • Initiate training of the new PIs related to HCs and HQ Functions and provide guidance to Coordinators to cascade this for stakeholders across the organization.
  • This training should equip stakeholders to better monitor and manage their performance.

  • Be available to provide input and review of KPI and PI reports for leadership meetings, e.g. SMEC, and other committees and enable tracking of improvements and action plans based on the reports.
  • Lead in preparing the analysis and interpretation for reports to HCs, HQ and leadership and supervise the Performance Management Coordinators on analyzing low performing areas to support in decision making and to drive performance improvement.
  • Ensure that analysis and interpretation for reports are available as per the reporting cycles to support leaders and decision makers to identify issues and monitor improvements.
  • Request detailed data to support analysis of reports and to enable identification of relationships and trends.
  • Drive the generation of new ideas and reporting methods and visualizations that can support analysis and interpretation of reports.
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by thinking what might go wrong in all undertakings and take necessary measures to prevent them from happening.
  • Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, errors and / or near misses in timely manner.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrate a sense of team work and effective communication.
  • Partner with line manager to understand risks in the area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan.
