Job Purpose :
To manage planned and ad-hoc strategy projects, design appropriate frameworks and setup project management functions for assigned projects, including Qatar National Development Strategy (QNDS) project tracking.
To ensure cross division synergies in strategy project management.
Key Result Areas :
Manage crosscutting corporate initiatives and projects related to QF governance, organization, strategy or operational model.
This could include analysis of best practices and benchmarks from other countries, review of QF’s impact in a particular mission, designing engagement models, to ensure better coordination and alignment across QF entities, designing new functions etc.
Facilitate the design and structure of specific analysis for projects undertaken by project teams outlining clear objectives and structure for the analysis, as well as ensuring a solid fact-
basis, process for capturing input of stakeholders and consideration of benchmarks and best-practices, and clear story-lining of presentations.
Develop and maintain an effective project plans for selected projects, and implement mechanisms for the plan to be monitored.
Lead a process of review for all analysis prepared by project teams that is to be shared with executive management, ensuring robust structure of analysis and basis for recommendations or conclusions made.
Manage various projects at once, identify and manage key relationships to ensure delivery of successful projects internally and externally
Coordinate QF’s involvement in national level projects related to the Foundations core mission impact areas as requested by Management;
with the key purpose of ensuring alignments with national needs and other national stakeholders in Qatar (i.e. MDPS, ADLASA, MOLSA, MEHE, MEC etc.)
Manage the tracking, monitoring on QF’s contribution to the QNDS2 (Qatar National Strategy) and quarterly reporting on progress to the MDPS
Manage scoping, selection and closely monitor project delivery of commissioned external consulting work to maximize value add of consultants
Source research into political, legislative, economic, social, technological, business and industry trends and analyse and interpret strategic trends to identify likely impacts on the organization and inform the executive decision making and strategic planning processes
Ensure that the company’s standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project’s development and execution
Successful delivery of allocated projects, which will include corporate / QF level projects that will have far-reaching impact on QF’s impact and Qatar’s national development
Provide ad-hoc strategy analysis, feasibility studies and analysis
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field & 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience, 3 of which at a supervisory level
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage but not pre-requisite.
Strong grasp of the latest strategic frameworks and experience in applying them, preferably with experience working in a leading strategy consulting firm or in a strategy related role in a corporate.
Outstanding strategic thinking skills with strong grasp of the latest strategic frameworks and experience in applying them
Excellent analytical skills with ability to deal with complex problems in a structured way, adept at modeling (including financial) and preparing conceptual frameworks and considerable experience conducting research e.
g. industry analysis, value chain analysis and business feasibility studies, etc.
The incumbent should have exposure to a broad range of management functions, such as governance, marketing, HR, finance, IT etc.
and to understand how these impact on an organization’s performance.
Exemplary interpersonal communication, presentation, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
Excellent speaking and writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely;
