The Engineering Technician IV performs non-standard or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations to integrate and test C4ISR equipment integrated on tactical platforms.
Tasks include : Leading new or modified technical designs for C4ISR integration; works with Engineers and SMEs to develop and document new designs.
nstalling a variety of C4ISR equipment into multiple tactical platforms w orking from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications Leading testing of C4ISR equipment operations and interoperability post system integration at the platform level.
Diagnosing failures or low power using a variety of test and measurement diagnostic equipment Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings in SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic’s Product Data Management (PDM) system, Windchill.
Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods, and presenting the data in prescribed form.
Technical adequacy of work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress. Provides guidance to lower level technicians.
Must have valid passport, and willing to travel to other countries in theatre as required. DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain (clearance preferred) Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
