JOB SUMMARY :
Provides consultation and administer treatments and procedures using full range of agents, methods, and techniques for effective results.
Assists cardiology consultants in clinical management and performance of all necessary diagnostic and therapeutic (invasive or non-invasive) procedures.
Maintains high-level and professional performance according to international standards.
Assists the Head of Cardiology Department by assuming responsibilities in his / her absence or as designated.
Receives professional and administrative direction from the Head of Cardiology Department to ensure adherence to existing Hospital and Department policies.
Works independently without professional supervision
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS : Daily contact with nursing staff, physician, operating room personnel, patients, families in carrying out duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide treatment to patients suffering from heart problems and examines and treat disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular system including hypertension, Acute Coronary Syndrome etc.
Diagnoses patients with the aid of diagnostic images and electrocardiograph recordings.
Should be updated on the latest heart procedures and studies as new breakthroughs are made in this field on a daily basis.
Experience in ALL Non-invasive diagnostic procedures is essential, such as Trans-thoracic Echo, Treadmill Stress testing and Holter monitoring
Design a healthy diet chart for the patient as diet affects the heart the most
Design a good exercise regimen exercise to help in quick recovery and it makes the heart stronger
There are various illnesses of the heart so the cardiologist has to be updated on developments in each
Maintain detailed reports on each patient and also a report on their progress
Coordinate with any other specialist the patient might be seeing
Give medicines that are compatible with the other medicines the patient is taking
Advice patients on any alternative treatment they might be seeking
Help the patient to fully recover from their illness and have the patient follow up even after they are okay as it post recovery treatment is also important
Provides technical advice and guidance to colleagues and nursing staff as part of orientation or training in new techniques and procedures.
order treatment regimens; establish rapport with the patient and relatives; and answer patient’s queries.
Sees patients before and after any planned procedure to evaluate patient’s condition and suitability, and obtain informed consent prior to any procedures.
Participates in the quality and safety programs in collaboration with related committees. Must be active member of hospital-
wide committees like Code Blue Committee in a position designated or elected by committee members.
Provides continuing education, training, and demonstration by sharing new procedures and techniques to colleagues, nurses, and technicians assigned within the department in collaboration with Hospital’s Research committee.
Attends to work and on-call schedules on time and performs duties completely before ending the shift.
Endorses to the next shift any uncompleted task to be continued and / or completed.
Responses to emergencies in the hospital without delay during on-call duty.
Attends to scheduled or unscheduled meetings to discuss and resolve problems.
Performs other duties necessary to effect efficient services in the department without hesitation.

Education and experience are verified in accordance with QCHP guidelines
Knowledge / Skills : With broad knowledge of his / her area of specialty and hospital or healthcare administration including policies, procedures, and standard medical practices applicable to area of specialization.
Thorough knowledge of medical and professional ethics. Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical, clinical and technical aspects in both ambulatory and hospital setting.
Ability to solve problems of patients and personnel of varied nationalities under supervision.
Equipment Operated : Diagnostic and medical equipment related to specialty.
Licensure : Registered Medical Doctor under Specialist Category
Languages : Proficiency both in English and Arabic is preferred.
Personal Requirement : Possess integrity, initiative, and evidence of good health and grooming, good moral character and right conduct, strong and pleasing personality.
Job Requirement : Participates actively in organization-wide activities without hesitance or personal reservation. Can adapt to unusual job-
related circumstances. Works effectively under stressful condition. Willing to work extended hours to attend to emergency cases.
Travel : Willing and fit to travel for business / service purposes such as : going to other AAH facilities.
