Al Udeid Air BaseThe Fitness Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Fitness Center(s) and applicable personal training, strength, and aerobics fitness activities.
Principal Accountabilities(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.
Manage and execute fitness programs and operate facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Ensure high quality fitness experience is provided for guests.
Assists guests and encourages their involvement in fitness services.Conduct fitness incentive programs and activities.Provide appropriate marketing / publicity material for programs and events, coordination with Marketing for cross-
marketing and base distribution.Establish and maintain a volunteer program to provide sufficient personnel to officiate sporting events and tournaments.
Identify personnel with certifications to assist in teaching classesMaintain procedures for tracking and issuing fitness / sports equipment to guests.
Train and develop a strong team of fitness personnel.Point of reference for fitness expertise within the facility.Implement proper safety precautions and monitor all areas for safety hazards to ensure proper fitness, weight and exercise techniques and sports safety.
Maintain clean, friendly, and well-functioning facility environment.Ensure the lifeguards are properly using their sign-in / sign-
out logs, performing chlorine level checks.Assist planning for expansion of service or programs related to the fitness and sport program.
Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of weight training, exercise physiology and aerobicsStrong customer service and leadership skills.
Be knowledgeable of the regulations and rules of play regarding all activities and tournaments hosted within the facilities as well as answer all customer inquiries regarding the same.
Additional knowledge / skills may be required by contract or assignment.Experience & EducationBachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management or fitness related area preferred.
Five years related experience, with minimum 2 years fitness facility management experience.Possess an American Red Cross CPR Certificate, an American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate or local equivalent certifications, and an Automated External Defibrillator Certificate.
Certificates are required to be current at all times.Additional experience / education may be required by contract or assignment.
