  • Calculate premiums, refunds,commissions, adjustments, and new reserve requirements, usinginsurance rate standards.
  • Check computationsof interest accrued, premiums due, and settlement surrender on loanvalues.
  • Collect initial premiums and issuereceipts.
  • Compare information from applicationto criteria for policy reinstatement and approve reinstatement whencriteria are met.
  • Compose businesscorrespondence for supervisors, managers andprofessionals.
  • Correspond with insured oragent to obtain information or inform them account status orchanges.
  • Examine letters from policyholders oragents, original insurance applications, and other companydocuments to determine if changes are needed and effects ofchanges.
  • Interview clients and take theircalls in order to provide customer service and obtain informationon claims.
  • Modify, update, and processexisting policies and claims to reflect any change in beneficiary,amount of coverage, or type of insurance.
  • Notify insurance agent and accounting department ofpolicy cancellation.
  • Obtain computer printoutof policy cancellations or retrieve cancellation cards fromfile.
  • Organize and work with detailed officeor warehouse records, maintaining files for each policyholder,including policies that are to be reinstated orcancelled.
  • Process and record new insurancepolicies and claims.
  • Process, prepare, andsubmit business or government forms, such as submittingapplications for coverage to insurance carriers.
  • Review and verify data, such as age, name, address, andprincipal sum and value of property on insurance applications andpolicies.
  • Transcribe data to worksheets andenter data into computer for use in preparing documents andadjusting accounts.
