DohaBASIC FUNCTION : Under general supervision, procures food supplies, equipment, & services; prepares formal bids, contracts & quotations, stores, issues and records all movement.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES : Procure food, supplies, equipment, materials & services, from suppliers through new contracts, competitive bids or existing contracts.
initiate purchasing processes to replenish and maintain supply inventory.Manage warehouse inventory; receive, unload, shelve, issue and load merchandise and record all incoming, outgoing and current stock levels.
Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of surpluses.Coordinate the handling of freight, and movement of equipment.Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, pricing, and labeling suppliesResearch and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities as well as the reputation and history.
Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contracted obligations; assist with clarifying contract requirements and resolving any conflicts.
Conduct research by telephone, catalog, and the Internet to develop bid specifications and obtain current prices.Identify and maintain lists of vendors and sources of supply for goods, services, and warranty equipment repair.
Review procurement documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Department standards; discuss evaluations and review with requesters and subject matter experts.
Investigate complaints about the quality of materials or equipment received and secures adjustments; prepare forms to return unsatisfactory items.
Maintain a variety of reports, records, and files, including vendor catalogs, brochures, bid expiration log, purchasing calendar, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
Determine cost effectiveness of maintenance agreements versus needed repairs on equipment; determine if equipment value and age warrants repairs or replacement.
