The School of General Education invites applications for positions in Communications.
Joining the dedicated academic staff in the School of General Education, the Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer will plan, develop, and deliver instruction in Communications to students enrolled in a variety of academic programs.
Reporting to the Department Chair, Communications and Electives, s / he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment.
The post holder will engage in research, manage and control projects within the specified program area, liaise with industry and other educational institutions, and participate in industry advisory committees.
Candidates must demonstrate exemplary communication and interpersonal skills and native fluency in English. Associate Professors will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development / improvement plans.

Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge and understanding of a variety of delivery and student success strategies is required. Candidates must also have knowledge of current teaching and learning methodologies and an ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of the appropriate use and integration of technology in the teaching and learning process are also required.
Candidates must demonstrate exemplary communication and interpersonal skills and native fluency in English. Effective problem solving skills, an ability to work in a team and learner centered environment, and the ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of the organization are also required.
Intercultural competence including intercultural sensitivity and adaptability, and the ability to conduct oneself appropriately and effectively in another culture, are essential.
Knowledge of the CNA-Q system Desire2Learn (D2L) and its programs is a definite asset.
