Instrument & Electrical ReliabilityEngineer - Developee (National Fresh Graduates)
Required : Bachelor's degree in Electrical / PowerEngineering.
JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Apply the acquiredknowledge and experience in developing methods and processes toprevent, or reduce, the likelihood or frequency of failures inl&E systems and assets.
Advise and assist Maintenance l&EEngineers, electricians, instrument technicians and productionsupervisors on complex electrical and instrument repairs andtroubleshooting methodologies.
Support all theefforts towards building a harmonious work environment to promotethe spirit of cooperation and team building within the l&EReliability Section.
Provide requiredtechnical support in matters requiring higher level of expertiseand consultation
Instrument& Electrical Assets Integrity
Develop and implement Reliability strategiesby utilizing conventional techniques such as Reliability CenteredMaintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Preventive andPredictive maintenance (PPM) strategies, and other industryaccepted reliability techniques to analyse l&E equipmentfailures and produce cost effective strategies to ensure safe andreliable operation of the plant.
ImplementMechanical Integrity & Quality Assurance best practices.Work with other concerned departments to develop & executeappropriate Quality Assurance (QA) practices and develop amechanism to assess the effectiveness of QA practices.
Proactively identify l&E Equipment ReliabilityIssues and develop engineering solutions for chronic and sporadicequipment reliability problems.
Work with technical, production andmaintenance to implement solutions.
LeadReliability Improvement efforts of the plant from the platform ofReliability Improvement Teams (RITs).
PerformRoot Cause Failure Analysis to identify various failure modes andrecommend strategies to help improve l&E equipmentreliability.
Evaluate RCA reports, criticalitystudies, equipment strategies, and risk assessments on equipment toensure consistency and compliance with company procedures andpolicies.
Evaluate facility incidents thataffect reliability and ensure that appropriate RCAs are performed.Assist in tracking RCA findings and completing action items in atimely manner.
Develop Instrumented ProtectiveSystems (IPS) related work processes in the company to comply withregulatory requirements mandated both by International Standards IEC61511 / ISA 84) and Company Standards RMS 5700.
Administer the development of detailed engineeringcalculations and drawings including the preparation of Single LineDiagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Interconnectiondrawings, loop drawings, Instrument data sheets etc.
Prepare technical inquiry requests to vendors,participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers.Review vendor drawings and documents and review design calculation.
Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet the designspecifications and are within budgeted costs.
Reviews equipment specs / designs to ensure equipment canmeet reliability objectives. Participate as a technical adviser oncapital projects and turnarounds.
Participatesin the MOCs and PSSRs of new installations to assure adherence tofunctional specifications.
Act as subjectmatter expert (SME) in performing root cause analysis (RCA)investigations and provides expertise to the RCA teams asrequired.
Review and optimize ITPMs forfunctionally critical l&E equipment MICE).
Drive consistency in l&E equipment design acrossthe site as part of projects review including consistency inmaintenance strategies.
Provide communicationto area resources about improvement projects.
Provide input as needed on projects to ensure design andreliability issues are considered and addressed on newprojects.
Provide guidelines to Maintenance inorder to ensure that Life Cycle Asset Management processes arecomplied with throughout the entire life cycle of new and oldassets.
Champion continuous improvement,fosters relationships between various plant functions to focus ontotal quality.
