Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening mid 2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sq m of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park and a waterpark.

The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination.

One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's waterpark attraction The Icon Tower, the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.

Room Technician - Hotel

This position is responsible for the Hotel Room maintenance and repair works consist of preventive / planned and reactive maintenance, daily operations.

  • What you will be doing :

  • The ability to read basics of engineering drawings
  • The ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repair of in-room equipment, fixtures & appliances
  • The ability to understanding of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing systems; and carpentry / masonry
  • The ability to use electrical tools and instrumentation
  • The ability to follow safety procedures
  • The ability to understand of maintenance inventory and requisition of parts and guestroom supplies as needed.
  • The ability to follow guest room preventive maintenance checklist to individually complete rooms preventative maintenance process for guest rooms in efficient and effective manner.
  • The ability to response in a timely manner to engineering related guest room requests
  • The ability to ensure that all Work Order, PPM & General Maintenance works are executed, as directed by the management
  • The ability to keep Housekeeping / Front Office informed of issues preventing the sale of a room
  • The ability to familiarize with the operation software and check the system daily.
  • The ability to retain daily logs for all work carried out and spares requested / ordered.
  • The ability to assist in energy conservation program, as assigned
  • The ability to revamp all areas of the property.
  • The ability to fault find and repair building management system (BMS) and networks.
  • The ability to cover the shift technician duties
  • The ability to participate in the on-call program and to respond both by phone and in person as appropriate
  • The ability to respond to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of rides or public area in a timely manner.
  • The ability to assist on all plumbing stoppages in the hotel.
  • The ability to repair an assortment of items brought to the shop by other departments.
  • The ability to assemble desks, shelving, cabinets, etc. as assigned.
  • The ability to assist engineers on major shutdowns for repairs.
  • The ability to operate and maintain Fire Alarm Systems
  • The ability to maintain logs for all work performed while on duty, paper and electronic.
  • The ability to take meter readings, record temperatures and pressures in heating and cooling plant.
  • The ability to check all mechanical and plant rooms.
  • The ability to keep a correct inventory and write PO request for needed items
  • The ability to respond to work orders or inspection reports submitted by Department Heads.
  • The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
  • The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
  • The ability to always conduct oneself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of Rixos Brand.
  • The ability to handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.
  • The ability to report all potential hazards.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management and staff.
  • The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
  • The ability to clean all stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organized department
  • The ability to adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations
  • The ability to organize projects, plan, and obtain cost for material and labor and complete Purchase Order
  • The ability to complete all assigned projects in a timely fashion
  • The ability to fault find and repair motor control circuits and motor equipment.
  • The ability to fault find and repair single phase and three phase circuits in general.
  • Requirements

    Your experience and skills include :

  • Qualification in Trades Technician level, variety of engineering / maintenance
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Hotel experience in 5 star hotel.
  • Basic computer skills - ability to use BMS
  • Blueprints reading knowledge
  • Service-oriented with an eye for details
  • Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
