Strategic DSN telephone and switch tasksshall include :
a. Provide administration, management,operation, and maintenance of telephone switch and associatedequipment. Supported capabilities include integrated voicemailsystems, remote switching systems, optical carrier systems,rectifiers and rectifier battery systems, inverters, powersupplies, UPS, or other telephone sub-systems.
b.Support equipment installation, placement, or relocation, includingsystem checkout, test, and maintenance. The contractor shallperform all work IAW the specifications and policies of the DoD,USAF, telephone switch manufacturer, and other manufacturers ofsystem components and with generally accepted telecommunicationsindustry practices. Subtasks shall include :
1. Operatethe telephone switch and associated hardware respectively IAWmanufacturer manuals.
2. Start and configure theswitch, respond to console messages, execute available diagnosticroutines, and monitor system status for each switch.
and perform recoveries from machine stopsor malfunctions.
4. Perform disk, cartridge, or tapebackup of the switch memory every seven calendar days. Whendatabase changes have occurred, backups shall be completed within24 hours.
5. Perform system / data administration on allequipment and software. The contractor shall accomplish databasechanges per time frames as set up by the Site Telephone Manager andIAW DoD and AF directives.
